Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Cybersecurity SCRM (Supply Chain Risk Management) Specialist to join our security team supporting a large government agency. The successful candidate will have experience developing policy and processes to integrate SCRM into an organization. This position can be located in Washington DC,  Denver CO, Kansas City MO, or Fort Worth, TX and allows for a 60% - 80% telecommute benefit.  Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of supply chain security, including the implementation of process and technology to assess newly procured hardware to ensure that manufacturer’s design has not been altered. Policy and procedure must be developed to complement existing IT security policy and business-line operations. As our Cyber SCRM specialist, you will be required to develop an approach and project plan to mature our client’s SCRM program. You will be responsible for developing all documentation and leading efforts to assess technologies to support the program.


This position requires strong communication and organization skills.  Our Security Engineering consultants interface directly with the customer and must be able to work autonomously and produce high-quality work product.


All candidates must have US work authorization with the ability to pass Federal background checks. 


Must have experience:

  • 10+ years of Information Technology Security experience.  This experience can include a mix of compliance and security operations/engineering experience. The successful candidate should have good technical skills, and will have worked in hands-on technical positions.
  • 3+ years of Cyber SCRM experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience implementing and operating a Cyber SCRM program. This experience will include:
    • Development of policy and procedures, and experience with SCRM supportive technologies
    • Understanding of zero-trust concepts
    • Solid understanding of Cyber Security hygiene practices
  • Governance Risk and Compliance experience: Understanding of NIST 800-53 and other NIST special publications. The successful candidate will have at least a basic understanding of Government Risk and Compliance and will be eager to learn more.


Desirable experience:

  • SSP writing experience
  • Knowledge of NIST special publications especially NIST 800-171 and 800-53.
  • Experience assessing hardware appliances for compliance with SCRM requirements and NIST 800-53 controls
  • Experience with endpoint security tools
  • Experience developing and presenting to executives
  • Experience working with C-SCRM monitoring tools
  • Experience implementing the Risk Management Framework
  • Experience with the CyberSecurity Framework

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and also be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express one self, and exchange information visually and verbally.

Must be able to occasionally bend and lift files and papers up to 10 pounds throughout the office space for events and meetings.
