Valiant Solutions is seeking two Top Secret cleared Pen Testers (Jr. and Sr.) to join our growing team supporting a large Government client in Washington DC. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated candidates to join an innovative and rapidly growing team.

All candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance to be considered. The positions are based in Washington DC with the potential for a partial remote / hybrid work schedule and can require up to 25% (CONUS) travel.  Typically one week per month.  Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees. To ensure that employee performance does not suffer in a remote work environment, all employees who telecommute are expected to have a quiet and distraction-free workspace with adequate internet, dedicate their full attention to their job duties during working hours, and maintain a schedule during normal business hours that overlaps with those of their coworkers and Valiant's.


Senior Penetration Tester Responsibilities:

  • Develop rules of engagement, and configure, tune, and operate industry standard pen test assessment tools
  • Coordinate, schedule, and support pen test requests
  • Emulate adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to validate security controls effectiveness; develop rules of engagement, brief partners on findings and mitigation techniques.
  • Analyze pen test reports and produce summary guidance for System Owners and administrators
  • Develop, capture, and deliver summary metrics of pen test activities
  • Draft and deliver executive and technical briefings on pen testing related topics


Junior Penetration Tester Responsibilities:

  • Emulate adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to validate security controls efficacy
  • Perform penetration test assessments of assets
  • Evaluate findings to determine applicability, saturation, and potential impact
  • Monitor remediation efforts of findings and communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Advise System Owners and Administrators of findings and provide remediation guidance
  • Work with Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and System Owners to develop Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) or formalized exceptions to document findings


Experience/Skills Requirements

Must be a US Citizen possessing an active TS security clearance 

Operational familiarity with current team tools: Nipper, Nessus, Netsparker, Knowbe4, Burpsuite Pro; Maltego; Canvas; Core Impact, Cobalt Strike

Senior Pen Tester - Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience required. (Associates degree plus two additional years of experience is also acceptable.)

Junior Pen Tester - Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience required. (Associates degree plus two additional years of experience is also acceptable.)

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and also be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express one self, and exchange information visually and verbally.

Must be able to occasionally bend and lift files and papers up to 10 pounds throughout the office space for events and meetings.


Work Environment:

Individual's primary workstation is located in an office area

The noise level in this environment is low to moderate
