Position Description

Are you a Network/Security Engineer with Cisco ISE experience? We have an exciting opportunity to lead the integration of a micro segmentation within a large government agency

 

This is your opportunity to join a busy Network Security Engineering team building and enhancing our government client’s security fabric.  In this role your focus will be the implementation of micro-segmentation policies across our client’s large enterprise network. You will be experienced with routing and switching technologies ideally in large enterprise environments. A solid foundation of routing and switching experience is critical to our client’s approach to Security Engineering. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of firewall, VPN, load balancing, and DNS technologies. This diverse team is responsible for securing a large infrastructure. We are seeking a motivated individual who is a keen learner as this team is constantly evolving and is currently designing and implementing cloud security solutions.

This position allows for 100% remote work.  Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees. All candidates must have US work authorization with the ability to pass Federal background and credit checks. 

 

Must have experience:

  • 2+ years of experience configuring of Cisco ISE, including design and implementation,deployment  of TrustSec policies to support microsegmentation
  • 8+ years of experience working with Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA or Palo Alto firewalls. This experience must have included firewall configuration changes, high availability, and the candidate must understand fundamentally how these devices work. Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience troubleshooting complex issues involving multiple devices with the devices themselves and connectivity running through them using both GUI and command line tools.
  • 5+ years of solid Networking experience (Routing & Switching). The successful candidate will be experienced with static routing, EIGRP, and OSPF routing and must be experienced with TCP/IP and IP subnetting. The successful candidate will be experienced working in a mid to large environment and will be able to work with minimal direction.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
  • 3+ years experience as a network security team lead supervising or directing the work of team members
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating tasks related to multiple projects

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage Cisco ISE policies , Security Group Tags 
  • Firewall changes on Cisco Firepower/ASA and Fortigate firewalls
  • Manage Cisco Umbrella configuration
  • Configuration and Troubleshooting within Splunk
  • Keep detailed records of customer interaction and problem resolution in a ticketing system
  • Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues involving multiple firewalls, IPS and load balancer and VPN devices.
  • Tune IDS/IPS signatures
  • Provide support for internal and external customers in a large enterprise environment
  • Troubleshoot a range of IT security and connectivity issues
  • Manage and troubleshoot virtualized load balancers
  • Support other team members in troubleshooting and project efforts
  • Manage hardware and software inventories
  • Works with remote teams to install, maintain and troubleshoot security hardware
  • Ensure customers receive top of the line support in a polite and courteous manner
  • Develop standard operating procedure and network topology documentation
  • Provide on-call and afterhours support as required.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and also be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express one self, and exchange information visually and verbally.

Must be able to occasionally bend and lift files and papers up to 10 pounds throughout the office space for events and meetings.
