This position supports the orchestration and automation of Governance, Risk, and Compliance for our government client. The successful candidate will use their proficient programming knowledge to replace repetitive manual compliance processes with automation. The candidate will work with a variety of data sources, repositories, and tool APIs to architect and implement this solution. The candidate will aggregate automated test results into compliance dashboards using BI and other tools.

 

This position allows for 100% remote work.  Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees. To ensure that employee performance does not suffer in a remote work environment, all employees who telecommute are expected to have a quiet and distraction-free workspace with adequate internet, dedicate their full attention to their job duties during working hours, and maintain a schedule during normal business hours that overlaps with those of their coworkers and Valiant's

 

Duties:

  • Develops scripts using Python to automate both security and IR functions, including (but not limited to) IOC ingestion and SIEM integration via REST APIs to minimize repetition of duties and automate tasks.
  • Supports continued use of automation and tool integration through PowerBI and other technologies to maintain and advance the metrics reported by the agency’s enterprise security dashboard.
  • Develops automated security control tests using data and security and infrastructure tool APIsAutomates the development of security controls, including firewall rules and IPS policies
  • Automate data correlation and enrichment across multiple repositories and aggregate findings on centralized compliance dashboards. Automates the implementation of security controls in Amazon Web Services (AWS) via the AWS API
  • Automates new tool integration (Splunk, Tenable, BigFix, ServiceNow) with the Elastic Stack using Python and/or Ruby scripting 
  • Develops custom enhancements to COTS tools to improve their functionality and enrich data

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer security-related field and at least 4+ years experience with three (3) years in Federal Cyber Security. Can substitute no degree with 5 + years of related work
  • 7+ years of experience scripting in Python or Ruby
  • 7+ years of experience interconnecting security tools (i.e., Tenable, BigFix, ServiceNow, CSAM GRC tool) via APIs and using a data lake to correlate data for use in risk management and ISCM dashboards
  • 5+ years of experience with data aggregation, correlation, and enrichment. Tool sets and technologies may vary.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with PowerBI

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and also be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express one self, and exchange information visually and verbally.

Must be able to occasionally bend and lift files and papers up to 10 pounds throughout the office space for events and meetings.

Individual's primary workstation is located in an office area
