This is your chance to lead a penetration testing and vulnerability scan team for our large government client. You will lead from the front as a pen tester conducting hands-on web application penetration tests and red team assignments. In this role you will lead and mentor other pen testers and scan analysts who are working to maintain a strong security posture for our client, through testing, measurement, and reporting. This position involves both hands-on operational support, solution design and advancement, and project management and scheduling. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with web application security skills, including vulnerability assessment, scanning, and manual security testing and be capable of conducting hands-on, technical risk assessments of web applications. This position allows for a 60% - 80% telecommute if located in the Washington DC, Fort Worth TX, Denver CO or Kansas City MO areas.  100% remote is acceptable for candidates that live outside of the above listed regions. Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees. Qualifications/ Responsibilities

  • 5+ years of web application penetration testing experience 
  • 3+ years Operating System vulnerability scanning experience, preferred.
  • 2+ years of team lead experience is preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated web application security skills, including vulnerability assessment, scanning, and security testing; capable of conducting hands-on, technical risk assessments of web applications. 
  • Experience with one or more of the following web application scan tools:, Software Security Center or WebInspect Enterprise, and Burp Suite
  • Ability to demonstrate manual testing experience including all of OWASP v4
  • Ability to recommend courses of action to mitigate security vulnerabilities and threats to consumer products and web services, as well as corporate applications and environments
  • Fluent in a variety of web application protocols, web services (components including JavaScript, HTML5, XML, JSON, SOAP, REST, and AJAX), software development frameworks, operating systems, and networking technologies. Understanding of various web application frameworks such as ASP.NET, J2EE
  • Web Server configuration knowledge: Microsoft IIS, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat
  • Ability to manage security testing projects with little assistance
  • Experience with Web application development, system administration, and the software and system development life cycle
  • Experience in shell scripting, Python, Perl, or similar tool and automation languages

Other General Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical leadership for existing and new security solutions for our client.
  • Be able to work autonomously
  • Security tool development: researching, planning, and implementing new tool features to make security tools more effective and add value for our client
  • Interpreting web application scan reports and assist customer with remediation efforts
  • Researching and developing new security solutions
  • Triage security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation suggestions based on industry standards.

Required Certifications:

  • CISSP, GSEC, GWAPT, OSCP, LPT or equivalent certification.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and also be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express one self, and exchange information visually and verbally.

Must be able to occasionally bend and lift files and papers up to 10 pounds throughout the office space for events and meetings.
