Valiant Solutions is seeking a Training Manager with federal acquision experience to join our growing team supporting a large Government client in Washington DC.  This person will join a program responsible for the efficient and effective execution of functions by providing administrative, business, compliance, policy, governance, and oversight to support core IT and cybersecurity operations and achieve organizational, strategic, and mission goals.

This position allows for 100% remote work. Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees. To ensure that employee performance does not suffer in a remote work environment, all employees who telecommute are expected to have a quiet and distraction-free workspace with adequate internet, dedicate their full attention and availability to their job duties during working hours, and maintain a schedule during core business hours that align with those of their coworkers and Valiant's clients.  Additionally,  in alignment to the Office of the Inspector General’s effort to eliminate conflicting employment all Valiant employees are required to disclose any current or future outside employment engagements. Job Description:

  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, and consultation with line managers
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices
  • Searching for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety among staff
  • Researching new training supplies and materials that can enhance a firm’s training procedures while providing value to employees
  • Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods
  • Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
  • Monitor and evaluate the training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
  • Manage training budget
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing development
  • Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
  • Leading programs to assist employees with transitions due to technological changes, acquisitions, and mergers
  • Communicating with management, trainers, and team members to ensure that all needs are met
  • Setting up executive or leadership development programs for lower-level employees
  • Conducting orientation programs and arranging on-the-job training for new hires
  • Resolving any specific problems and tailoring training programs as necessary



Qualifications:

  • Level 3 DAWIA or Federal Acquisition Institute certification in Contracting, COR and/or P/PM areas of expertise.
  • Proven work experience as a training manager for federal projects/ programs
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Strong writing and record-keeping ability for reports and training manuals
  • Advanced database and computer skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and also be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express one self, and exchange information visually and verbally.

Must be able to occasionally bend and lift files and papers up to 10 pounds throughout the office space for events and meetings.

Individual's primary workstation is located in an office area

The noise level in this environment is low to moderate
