Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Sr. Business Development  / Growth Lead who is well connected within the DHS and HHS areas to join our well-positioned and fast-growing company!  As the Sr. BD/Growth Lead, you will report directly to the CEO shaping and implementing growth strategy as well as following through on growing Vaiant’s customer base. The ideal candidate has established connections within the Federal Civilian space, specifically with DHS or HHS and ideally in the CISO office(s) to help establish meetings and lead BD and Capture efforts.  Foremost, this is a sales and business development position, but it also offers the opportunity to capture.

As the Sr. BD/Growth Lead, you will:

  • Using your network to get Valiant in the door with key decision-makers
  • Connect dots to understand what Valiant does well and what a customer might need to increase the likelihood of a productive meeting 
  • Follow-up with potential or existing customers to help develop or create opportunities
  • Use existing qualified staff and resources to help build the best solution or offering for our potential customers.
  • Attend events in person and virtually to understand the customer’s needs
  • Be comfortable working in a remote capacity. Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees. To ensure that employee performance does not suffer in a remote work environment, all employees who telecommute are expected to have a quiet and distraction-free workspace with adequate internet, dedicate their full attention and availability to their job duties during working hours, and maintain a schedule during core business hours that align with those of their coworkers and Valiant's clients.  Additionally,  in alignment to the Office of the Inspector General’s effort to eliminate conflicting employment all Valiant employees are required to disclose any current or future outside employment engagements. During onboarding and throughout employment, employees must disclose any current activities or intent to engage in outside employment or other professional activities and obtain written approval.  Employees may not solicit or conduct any outside business during core business hours for Valiant Solutions and our clients.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting the Federal Government
  • An established and solid network within the Federal Government community within procurement, CIO, and CISO organizations, preferably within DHS and/or HHS.  
  • Member of industry groups such as ACT-IAC, AFFIRM, or others is strongly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate (but not required) is a good writer and communicator who can convey technical concepts in simple and clear narratives.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and also be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, and computer printer.

Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information visually and verbally.

Must be able to occasionally bend and lift files and papers up to 10 pounds throughout the office space for events and meetings.
