Valiant Solutions is seeking a Technical Assessor/ISSO to join our team supporting the assessment and authorization of a cloud-based multi-platform information system for a Government client in Arlington, VA. The successful candidates will have experience developing complete FISMA system documentation including SSPs, contingency plans, change management plans, FIPS 199s, and POA&Ms. The candidates will have experience gathering requirements and system configuration details from project teams and developers in order to document the system. These positions involve working in a two-person team to review the existing documentation for a cloud FISMA system, conducting a gap analysis, gathering control implementation information, updating existing documentation, assessing the system, and developing a continuous monitoring plan.   These positions are in Arlington, VA and require individuals who are used to working directly with customers in a consultative manner to perform all the steps necessary to fully authorize a cloud GSS. This will involve planning the approach, developing all documentation, and providing guidance to technical and GRC teams on phone calls and screen-share sessions.  All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States with the ability to successfully pass Federal background checks.   Job Description: - Serves as the IT security POC (ISSO) to ensure the information system complies with agency Policies. - Ensure security activities are implemented throughout the SDLC from beginning to end. - Ensure all systems are operated, maintained and disposed of IAW documented security policies and procedures including but not limited to Assessment & Authorization (A&A). - Oversee and manage relationships for assigned systems that may be contractor-owned and contractor-operated, ensuring vendors comply with agency security and privacy requirements. - Support the development and maintenance of all security documentation such as the System Security Plan, Privacy Impact Assessment, Configuration Management Plan, Contingency Plan, Contingency Plan Test Report, POA&M, annual FISMA assessment, and incident reports,. - Research assigned IT security systems to provide insight on IT security architectures and IT security recommendations for assigned systems. - Assess vulnerabilities to ascertain if additional safeguards are needed and ensure systems are patched and security hardened at all levels of the “stack,” and monitor to see that vulnerabilities are re-mediated as appropriate. - Perform security control assessment planning and execution in compliance with client policies and procedures with minimal supervision. - Develop or assist with the development of all required assessment deliverables (including Security Assessment Report, filling out of all test cases, updating POA&M document).   Qualifications: - Have detailed knowledge of NIST Policies, Governance, Security Planning and Architecture, FISMA Compliance, RMF, Incident Analysis, and General Security Best Practices. - Security Professional Certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CAP, CEH). - Previous experience with scanning tools: Nessus, SIH, AppDetective, WebInspect. - Expert skills in assessment techniques and practices. - Excellent interpersonal, interviewing, analytical and problem-solving skills to address variable situations - General knowledge of industry security requirements, standards, and best practices. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to read and analyze data effectively to write cogent reports on assessment findings with sound recommendations. - Good human relations, communication, supervisory and time management skills. - Bachelor’s degree in information technology-related field. - Possess strong written and oral communication skills to support customers, internal stakeholders, peers, and public audiences. - Ability to communicate, both written and orally, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Good understanding of and experience with applying FISMA and NIST Cybersecurity framework and requirements.                     - Experience in developing Information Security policies and procedures.   Required Experience and Education: - 2+ years of Technical Writing Experience - 4+ years of Information Technology Experience.
