If you are interested in learning more about Valiant and this opportunity, we invite you to apply now!     Job Description This is your opportunity to join a busy Security Engineering team delivering cutting-edge solutions to a fantastic Government client.  Specialized experience in incident response, management of the APT, forensic analysis, malware analysis and reverse engineering and handling of evidentiary data is key for this challenging and rewarding role.  This role will be responsible for all activity related to incident response and management, forensic analysis and other emerging enterprise-wide IT challenges.   The Forensics / Malware SME shall be responsible for all activity related to incident response and management, forensic analysis and other emerging enterprise-wide IT challenges.   Responsibilities - Provide Incident Management support, including guidance and expertise to the Incident Response Team and SOC components - Development of policies, instruction, standards and procedures around security functions - Develops, Maintains and Optimizes malware analysis laboratory environment - Maintains digital evidence Chain of Custody for forensic activity, in accordance with policy, industry standards and law - Perform forensic analysis on a variety of network, host, digital media and operating systems/environments such as but not limited to: Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, Linux/Unix, Mainframe and cloud computing platforms (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) - Prepare detailed written technical reports covering methodology applied to forensic investigation, findings and recommendations for further action - Provide SME technical analysis for Incident response and Forensics for Incident / Breach / and Compromise Activities.  Including but not limited to: malware detection, lateral movement, data collection and exfiltration detection - Provide a complete response to all DFIR tasks   Qualifications / Required Skills: - US Citizenship and the ability to be cleared for as high as a Top Secret clearance - Bachelors or greater in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering is strongly preferred. - CISSP or equivalent level security certification required - 5+ years of specialized experience in incident response, management of the APT, forensic analysis, and handling of evidentiary data with the most recent experience in the past three years. - Experience in incident management, response, and forensics in cloud environments including by not limited Amazon Web Services (AWS), MS Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud Services. - Experience in malware reverse engineering and root cause analysis. - Experience in Incident Identification, Detection, Analysis, and Forensics at the host, network, and cloud layers. - Extensive knowledge of web application security, secure coding and source code reviews (Python, Java, C, C++, .NET, APEX, RoR, etc,), cloud security, virtualization security, Building/Physical Security, and MS Network architecture and design. Not all are required. - Possess in depth knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix/Solaris operating systems. - Experience with Incident Response methodology in investigations, and the groups behind targeted attacks and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). - Knowledge of data science and interpretation of digital evidence. - Knowledge of criminal legislation impacting digital evidence. - Knowledge of data protection legislation and the rules governing personally identifiable information (PII - Advanced user of one or more of the following: Splunk, Varonis, SECOPS RSA Archer, Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Microsoft Exchange Online Protection, Netwitness, PaloAlto, Redseal, Trend Micro anti-virus solutions, Webinspect, Wireshark, Tenable and ForeScout, (MSS) tools (e.g. LookingGlass, FireEye and InfoBlox) - Advanced user of one or more of the following Forensic applications: - Encase Endpoint Security, Nuix, Magnet Internet Evidence Finder, Linux Forensic boot disks such as SIFT, DEFT and Helix, mobile device data capture & analysis tools such as MSAB Complete and Cellebrite 4PC. Memory forensic capture & analysis tools such as Redline and Volatility. - Competent user of Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) tools, Intrusion Detection & Prevention (IDP), Security Information & Event Management, Network Analysis Tools such as Wireshark malware reverse engineering sandboxes such as Cuckoo, Flare & REMNux - Solid understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure designs; including cloud infrastructures, routing, firewall functionality, host and network intrusion detection systems, encryption, load balancing, and other network protocols.
